Delete your account.
This page explains how to delete your Suhoor Festival account. The Suhoor Festival app and website are operated by Salient Media LLC dba Suhoor Festival ("Suhoor Festival," "we," "us"). Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.
1. Delete Your Account in the App
- Open the Suhoor Festival app.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- Tap "Delete account."
- Confirm the deletion.
Your personal data is deleted immediately once you confirm — there is no waiting period and no "soft delete."
2. Or Request Deletion by Email
If you can't access the app, email us at info@suhoorfestival.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll process verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Business, vendor, and staff accounts cannot self-delete — because of billing, payout, and contract obligations, these accounts must request closure by emailing info@suhoorfestival.com.
3. What Is Permanently Deleted
The following personal and identifying data is removed immediately on confirmation:
- Your login — account email and authentication record
- Profile — display name, phone number, avatar
- Rewards — points, passport stamps, passport keepsakes, achievements and badges
- Contest activity — entries you submitted and votes you cast
- Reviews you wrote
- Halal-scanner scan history
- In-app notifications
- Safety data — reports you filed and your blocked-users list
- Push tokens for your devices
- Entry photos — the face photos attached to tickets; the image files themselves are deleted from storage, not just unlinked
4. What Is Retained (Anonymized)
Transaction records — ticket purchases and food/vendor orders: the amounts, dates, item and ticket types, order status, and payment-processor reference IDs are kept, but your identity is removed — the records are unlinked from you, and the email and ticket-holder name on them are stripped.
Why: these anonymized records are required for accounting, tax, financial reconciliation, and chargeback/dispute handling.
Any vendor or restaurant applications you submitted, and anonymized analytics events, are likewise de-identified — not personally retained.
5. Retention Period
- Personal data: deleted immediately on confirmation.
- Anonymized transaction records: kept in de-identified form only as long as needed for legal, tax, accounting, and dispute obligations (generally up to ~7 years). They are no longer associated with you.
6. Important Notes
- No refunds: deleting your account does not refund purchases — all sales are final, per our Returns and Refunds Policy.
- Business, vendor, and staff accounts must request closure via info@suhoorfestival.com (see Section 2).
- Payment processor: card-payment records are also held independently by our payment processor (Stripe) under their own retention policy, which is outside the app's control.
