Salient Media LLC dba Suhoor Festival ("Suhoor Festival," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites (including suhoorfestival.com), our mobile application (the "App"), and all related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.
Information you provide:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, password.
- Ticket purchase information: billing details (processed by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers).
- Vendor application information: business name, point of contact, menu, photos, certifications.
- Communications you send us (email, chat, support tickets, contest submissions).
- User-generated content (photos, videos, reviews, comments) you submit through the App.
- Entry-verification photo: for certain ticket types (e.g., premium tickets), a photo taken or uploaded by the ticket holder after purchase, used to verify identity at event entry. See Section 2.
Information collected automatically:
- Device data: device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, app version.
- Usage data: features used, screens viewed, session length, crash reports, performance metrics.
- Approximate location data (city or region) derived from IP address.
- Precise location data, only with your explicit permission, to power features like the festival map and Halal Map.
- Camera access (only when you choose to use the Halal Scanner or submit photos).
- Cookies, log files, and similar technologies on our website.
- Biometric data: when you enable Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint authentication for the App, your device handles biometric matching locally. We never receive or store your biometric data. (This applies to on-device authentication; for entry-verification photos on certain tickets, see Section 2.)
Information from third parties: If you sign in using a third-party service (e.g., Apple, Google), we receive basic profile information from that service per the permissions you grant.
2. Entry-Verification Photos (Premium Tickets)
For certain ticket types (such as premium tickets), we collect an entry-verification photo to confirm that the person arriving at the event is the ticket holder.
- What we collect. A single photo of the ticket holder, taken or uploaded by the ticket holder after purchase through the App.
- Why we collect it. The photo is used solely to verify the ticket holder's identity at event entry. At the gate, a staff member visually compares the photo to the person presenting the ticket. It is used for no other purpose.
- Human review only — no facial recognition. Entry-verification photos are reviewed by a person. We do not use facial recognition, automated face matching, or any other biometric technology on these photos, anywhere in this process.
- Consent. The photo is provided voluntarily by the ticket holder. By adding it, you consent to our collecting and using it for entry verification as described in this section.
- How it's stored. The photo is stored securely on our own infrastructure, protected by encryption in transit and access controls, and is accessible only to authorized personnel for the purpose of entry verification.
- No sharing. We do not share, sell, or disclose entry-verification photos to any third party.
- No other use. We do not use entry-verification photos for marketing or advertising, to build any facial-recognition or biometric database, to profile you, or to identify you in any context other than confirming your identity at event entry.
- Automatic deletion. Each entry-verification photo is automatically and permanently deleted within 72 hours after the event ends.
- Your choice / how to decline. Adding an entry-verification photo is optional. If you prefer not to provide one, simply do not add a photo — but a ticket that requires entry verification cannot be used for entry without it. If you have purchased such a ticket and do not wish to provide a photo, contact us at info@suhoorfestival.com about your options.
